She does country music the right way and wears her red boots and big hat proudly
This month ACE Space is going transatlantic with a double headliner gig featuring singer-songwriters Carter Sampson, from Oklahoma, and Amelia White from Nashville. They start their much anticipated UK tour at ACE Space on Friday, June16.
It has been said of Carter Sampson that “she does country music the right way and wears her red boots and big hat proudly”. At age 15 she began experimenting with sound as a way to pass the time, now her creativity has matured into a dedicated and passionate performer who averages about 220 shows annually. The review in ‘American Songwriter’ of her latest album ‘Gold’ concluded that Carter is “not just Oklahoma’s but one of Americana’s finest singer/songwriters”.
Amelia White moved to East Nashville in the early 2000’s and has been described as “a leading light in America’s most musical zip code”. She delivers flowing folk-rock and richly layered Americana often buoyed by soft, yet supple, rhythmic propulsion.
Of Amelia’s album ‘Rhythm of the Rain’ one reviewer concluded “Amelia White is cool and her songs speak truth and serve a purpose. The lyrics speak to the poet, the music speaks to the rocker. Amelia places the human in humanity and you feel good listening to her music. I know I do”.
Carter Sampson and Amelia White will be at ACE Space on Friday 16th June, doors open 7:30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets are £15 and available from www.WeGotTicket.com or direct by contacting events@acespace.org.uk or 078911 76940.
