Trapped woman freed from overturned Mini on M4




Cut out of vehicle by firefighters at scene

A woman was cut out of an overturned Mini on the M4 between Newbury and Reading yesterday evening (Monday).

Both fire engines from Newbury Fire Station were called shortly after 6pm, to the incident between junctions 13 and 12 eastbound.

The car was found to be on its roof, in a hedge, after leaving the carriageway, with a woman trapped inside.

Firefighters cut the woman out of the car and who was then taken to hospital in an ambulance.

Firefighters left the scene at 7.30pm.

The motorway remained open throughout.
