RAIL users suffered serious disruptions this morning after a train broke down near Kintbury.
The freight train, owned by DB Schenker, broke down at approximately 7.10am and was cleared by 9.11am, but during this peak period, First Great Western had to resort to transporting passengers by shuttle bus in both directions between Newbury and Great Bedwyn.
A spokesman for First Great Western, John Ratchford, said: “We understand that there would have been great disruption to people’s journey’s but we did our best to get them to where they needed to be.”
