Travellers park up in Thatcham

Camp established near cemetery

TRAVELLERS have set up camp in Thatcham.

The group has set up on on land owned by West Berkshire Council behind Thatcham Cemetery.

The arrival of the group in Thatcham follows a group being moved on from land near Equine Way in Greenham (pictured) yesterday (Sunday).

Around 20 caravans had parked up on the land close to Newbury Retail Park.

Police issued a section 61 order on the group yesterday afternoon, with help from local councillors and estate directors.
