Views sought on woodland management plan at The Chase

The National Trust is asking for views on its plans to chop down trees in The Chase and Woolton Hill near Newbury.
It wants to know what people think of its woodland management plan for the area which could see a ten year felling plan come in to force.
A proposal for the selective felling scheme says it will reduce the number of non native trees as well as coppicing alder.
The document also says thinning will be used to widen rides and open up the canopy allowing more light to reach the forest floor.
