In the dock at Reading Crown Court on Friday, December 19, was 60-year-old Nigel Talman, who lived at Carnarvon Place.
Mr Talman denies a single charge – that of murdering his 55-year-old wife, Sandra.
Mrs Talman died on August 17, 2014, at the flat they shared in a sheltered housing complex.
Mr Talman, who wore a grey tracksuit, spoke only to confirm his name and say “not guilty” when the charge was put to him.
A trial date of February 9 has been set and Mr Talman was remanded in custody until then.
