Tribute to two Middlesex people who died in M4 accident

Woman aged 37 and three-year-old girl lost their lives

POLICE have issued a tribute on behalf of the family of a woman and three year-old girl from Middlesex who died two weeks ago in an M4 accident.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) issued the following statement this morning (Friday):

“The devastating loss of Becky and Milly is deeply felt by all of their family and friends and they will always be remembered.

“The family thank all of the members of the public who stopped to help, members of the emergency services and particularly the hospital staff at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford who have provided amazing support to them.

"In light of the tragic events they request that their privacy continue to be respected at this very difficult time.”

The single vehicle crash happened eastbound between junctions 11 and 10, at around 2.10pm on Saturday May 7.

A silver Ford Focus C-Max left the carriageway and hit a tree. There were four occupants; the 37-year-old woman, a man in his late thirties and two girls, aged three and five.

The woman died at the scene.

The other three occupants were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where they were treated for their injuries.

The three-year-old girl died in hospital two days later, on Monday, May 9. The man and the five-year-old girl have been discharged.

In another M4 accident, on Wednesday, May 11, 49-year-old Graham Elliott died when a lorry was involved in a single vehicle collision between junctions 12 and 11 of the M4.
