Tributes paid to M4 murder victim

A murder investigation was launched after 48-year-old father of two Mark Pilgrim was struck by a car at around 10pm between junctions 10 and 8/9 on the eastbound carriageway on Friday.
Police said he was thrown from a vehicle and was immediately struck by another car which was being driven by a female driver who contacted the police and who is being treated as a witness in the investigation.
Mr Pilgrim was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
In a statement his family said: "Mark was a loving son, brother and father and his unnecessary and untimely death has left us with a very large gap in our hearts and lives.
"Mark was a very generous man who would give up his time to help out his friends and family.
"He was a real people person who was well known and popular in his local community."
A 25-year old man from Tottenham was arrested on Tuesday and is now in the custody of Thames Valley Police.
