Anthony Korash, aged 35, died after he lost control of his Toyota Yaris on the southbound carriageway near Speen on August 23.
Mr Korash was born in Ghana and moved to the UK in 2005 after completing his polytechnic education.
He served with the 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery from 2007 to 2012 and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2009.
Yesterday (Tues) his family paid tribute to Mr Korsah saying he was a "friend, a brother and a father to many".
They said: "He was friendly, generous and had good sense of humour. He was always ready to help everyone, and even strangers. He was like a gem in the eyes of many and was liked by many.
"We will always remember Anthony Korsah with fondness. He will be dearly missed by his wife, two sons and a daughter, and all his family and friends.
"May his soul rest in perfect peace."
