Tributes to musical longevity
Round-up of shows coming up at Basingstoke
SEVERAL tribute acts will be performing at venues in Basingstoke in the next couple of months.
p On Saturday, February 4 (7.30pm), The Dolly Parton Story visits The Forge, paying homage to an icon of country and popular music.
Andrea Pattison will be joined by a four-piece band who will perform versions of Dolly Parton's most celebrated material, from her early country classics such as Coat of Many Colours, through to her later smash hits such as Islands in the Stream and 9 to 5.

p Amir Sharma will be performing as the ‘King of Pop' Michael Jackson in Jackson Live in Concert, at The Anvil on Friday, February 17 (7.345pm).
He will be showing off his moonwalking skills and will be joined on stage by a cast of musicians, singers and dancers who work their way through all the hits including Thriller, Beat It and Billie Jean.

p The Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane will be hosting Take That 2 (with Robbie) at The Haymarket on Friday, March 16 (7.30pm).
This will be the first time that the tribute act has performed there and all the profits will go towards the Rotary Club's selected charities.
Tickets: £20.
p The Bootleg Beatles will be playing at The Anvil later that month.
Over the years tribute band have performed in front of many thousands of people, including big names such as Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison, George Martin and the Queen.
The band continues to set the standard for all the other hundreds of Beatles tribute acts which have followed.
The show takes place on Friday, March 30 at 8pm. Tickets: £25.
p Rod Stephen will bring his tribute to Abba – Bjorn Again – to The Anvil on Saturday, March 31 (8pm).
The show features Abba hits and songs from Mamma Mia! together with the voice of Tony Blackburn introducing it.
They will be joined on stage by Britain's Got Talent finalist Stavros Flatley.
