Trinity School wins its case for the courtroom final
The team beat off stiff competition from pupils of Kennet School, Thatcham, and St Peter’s School, Windsor, and now go on to the regional finals on May 10.
The annual competition has been running since 1994 and aims to introduce young people to the legal system.
Those involved are tasked with taking on the roles of lawyers, witnesses, magistrates and court staff in specially-written courtroom scenarios.
Geography and humanities teacher at the school, Will Trent, said: “The whole team should be thoroughly proud of themselves.
“The witnesses’ characterisation was extremely high quality; the court team were excellent and our lawyers stole the show.
“Justine Barker and Pierce Jones need special mention for their questioning of the other witnesses.
“Justine in particular was picked out by several of the watching magistrates for her cross examination.”
