With festival season in full swing, Truck Festival returns to Hill Farm, Steventon
With festival season in full swing, Truck Festival will be returning to Hill Farm, Steventon, from July 21-23, bringing along with them headliners Two Door Cinema Club, Alt-J and Royal Blood, alongside the likes of Self Esteem, The Wombats, Kate Nash, The Vaccines and many, many more.
Appealing to all ages, Truck’s a moment once a year to gather within a like-minded community for one special weekend. To catch your next favourite artist revel in their finest gig to date before jumping into the Paint Party... witness a huge headline moment with your friends before partying into the night.
Even more acts have announced.
The festival continue to break boundaries by fusing heavyweight acts of the modern pop, indie, rock and alternative scenes with new and exciting upstarts, led by the UK’s 2023 Eurovision entry Mae Muller. Taking the baton from Sam Ryder, who appeared at Hill Farm to a rapturous reception last year, Mae’s glossy pop hits will bring crowds together when she performs at Truck shortly after the globally renowned Song Contest. Mae’s performance will replace previously announced Beabadoobee, who has unfortunately had to pull out of the event. Indie rock powerhouses The Reytons also join the line-up, fresh from their latest album ‘What’s Rock And Roll?’ getting to number one in the UK Album Chart, and adding Oxfordshire to their extensive lists of places ticked off on tour.
Much loved London indie outfit Gengahr will also be making the journey to Truck after taking a two-year break from releasing music. New single ‘A Ladder’ will be sure to fit in their set among old favourites like ‘Heavenly Maybe’ and ‘She’s A Witch’. Critically acclaimed Leeds four-piece English Teacher have also been confirmed for Truck 2023, bringing their thrashing post-punk to Hill Farm which has already caught the attention of revered indie label Speedy Wunderground, and sunsoaked indie bangers will come courtesy of Brighton band Chappaqua Wrestling who will be fresh from the release of their debut album Plus Ultra which lands this April. After recently joining Inhaler on tour, FEET will also descend upon Hill Farm to regale Truck goers with their wonky Britpop, alt-rock offerings.
FEET say: “We had the pleasure of playing Truck a few years ago and that was one of our best festival crowds that year. Looking forward to keeping up that streak, expect lots of new material and some new haircuts.”
Further new additions also include emerging alt-pop upstart Beaux, South Coast art pop, math rock collective Cowboyy, Dublin rock pop in the form of Somebody’s Child, Mancunian rave pop outfit Porij, immersive pop from Larry Pink The Human, ramshackle and rallying punk rock tendencies with Opus Kink, scrappy rap rock band BILK and northern power pop quartet King No One. Alongside them you can also expect to see Luke La Volpe, Calum Bowie, Humour, Suds, Boy Bleach, The Covasettes, Nukuluk, Low Island, Persians Furs and Sunny Gym.
Speaking about Truck Festival’s new additions to the 2023 line-up, Festival Manager Lily Brimble said:“We couldn’t be more excited to be bringing a lineup packed with the most talked-about bands and artists into one place - perfect for fans to discover their favourite new artists and celebrate those soundtracking the here and now! Truck has always thrived when spotlighting future trailblazers and the best in the scene right now, and this year is no exception. We can’t wait to be back, and we can’t wait to see everyone there for our biggest Truck to date!”
