Turkey-licious bazaar enjoyed at Ridgeway village

The village hall was bustling with visitors on Saturday morning for the festive Aldworth Saturday Market turkey tasting and mini bazaar.

One visitor remarked “I thought this morning was a great success and so jolly too.”

The jollity may well have been helped along by the free hot mulled wine on offered to all and Father Christmas giving children a lucky dip in his festive sack, while people browsed stalls that included an RNLI fundraiser, handmade cards and candles, homemade jams and preserves, plants and flowers and of course the weekly pick up point for villagers’ newspapers, fruit and veg orders.

Baby Hugh Macaulay meeting Father Christmas for the first time seemed unimpressed by the experience.

But there was no shortage of willing tasters for the succulent turkey carved by Julia Walters of Bower Farm’s Walters Turkeys. It is all go for the Walters family at this time, as they supply many local outlets over the Christmas period.
