Twins fundraising quiz night gets the Royals seal from Ady Williams
Kamila and Laura Sinoplu, Year 11 pupils at Kennet School, are raising money for an expedition to Asia later in the summer.
They have organised a quiz night to help raise funds and former footballer Ady Williams has been recruited to be the quizmaster on the night.
About 60 pupils from the Stoney Lane school will be travelling to Mongolia and China to work with local communities to build a play area and teach English.
The twins said: “We’ve been building up to this trip for just under a year now and are hoping to experience the local culture and trek through the countryside on foot and horseback.
“We’re hoping that this kind of fantastic experience will give us key life skills and broaden our knowledge about the developing world, although it comes at a huge cost and we are being encouraged to be completely self-sufficient in order to be able to meet it. We’re really motivated to do so, and this event would play a big part in helping us to raise what we need. We are relying on the willingness of the community to support us by coming, but also from local businesses, that are very kindly donating raffle prizes towards the cause.”
The quiz takes place Friday, March 15, 7.30pm until 10pm at the Frank Hutchings Hall. To book a place, email
