Two drugs arrests in two days in Newbury's Victoria Park
Two men arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs
TWO men have been arrested following two separate drugs offences in Newbury's Victoria Park in the space of 24 hours.
A 40-year old Newbury man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis after being searched in Victoria Park on Sunday (25/10).
Following a subsequent house search, 19 deals of cannabis were also recovered.The man was bailed until 4 January 2016.
Sgt Damien Isherwood from Newbury police station said: “This arrest is just one example of the work police are doing to tackle the supply and use of illegal drugs in West Berkshire and we will continue to do everything within our power to crackdown on this crime.
"The illegal drugs trade can have a devastating impact on communities. If anyone has any information about suspected drugs offences, please do not hesitate to contact police via the 101 number or speak to officers on patrol.”
In a second incident, a 22-year-old man from Waltham Forest, London, was arrested and charged on suspicion of possesion with intent to supply heroin and cocaine after being caught by police in the park.
