Two golf days at Kingsclere golf club raise over £11,000

Held at Sandford Springs Golf Club, Kingsclere recently (Sep 31), a golf day to raise funds for Tadley Rugby Football Club was organised by Pump Technology in Aldermaston and raised £6,200 for the rugby club.
A total of 132 golfers took part, utilising all three of the nine-hole courses at Sandford Springs. The first nine holes were played in Stableford format; the second nine as a Texas Scramble.
Prize giving and dinner in the clubhouse followed a golfing battle on the green, and Matthew Camille proved this year’s winner of the rugby club’s Golf Shield.
“This hugely successful event underlines the continued commitment of the community to local sport, and rugby in particular,” saidJulia White, Sales and Marketing Manager for Sandford Springs.
Sponsors included KSB and Lowara-Xylem.
Five days prior to this, (Sep 26) Sandford Springs also hosted a 10th anniversary charity golf day to raise money for the Ark, a state-of-the-art independent medical education and conference facility, situated next to the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
Participating were 19 teams of four players, after a shotgun start at 1pm - with a hole-in-one on the 25th hole, by Graham Devereux of Caviste, a wine merchant in Overton, who won a set of Callaway Razor X irons.
The annual event included a champagne reception, dinner, raffle and auction, raising a total £5,000 for the Ark.
