Two injured in A34 East Ilsley accident this morning (Mon)
A woman in her seventies sustained possible back and chest injuries and another patient, whose gender or age were not confirmed by the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) suffered suspected back injuries.
Both were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
One lane of the northbound carriageway was blocked by the accident, which involved a Mercedes C200 and a Jaguar X-Type and which occurred shortly before 11am.
Fire crews from Newbury and Hungerford attended to remove one person who was trapped in one of the cars.
Thames Valley Police remained at the scene until the vehicles had been recovered and all lanes were cleared by 1.20pm.
Update 5.30pm
Newbury firefighters were called at 12.30pm to the incident, with two people medically trapped (with injuries which prevented them being moved easily) in the Mercedes and who had to be cut out of the vehicle.
