Thames Valley Police appeal for witnesses after Tilehurst car crash kills two pedestrians




Two elderly people have died in a car crash in Tilehurst.

At around 10.50am yesterday (Thursday), a silver Mercedes A170 was involved in a collision with two pedestrians in Park Lane, at the junction of Mayfair.

The two pedestrians, a 94-year-old man and an 84-year-old woman, both died at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes, a man in his 80s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains.

Detective Constable Nigel Doyle of the serious collision investigation unit said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“We’d also ask anyone with dash-cams who was in the area around the time of the collision to check any footage in case it may have captured something that could assist with the investigation.
