Burghclere Preschool and Toddler Group and Tadley Under Fives Pre-school rated Good by Ofsted

Two North Hampshire pre-schools have been rated Good in their latest Ofsted inspections, with one having improved on its previous inspection grade.

Burghclere Pre-school and Toddler Group, which is located in Portal Hall on Church Lane, was rated Good in all areas following a March 12 inspection.

This was upgraded from the Requires Improvement grade it received in April 2023.

Ofsted inspectors stated that “children form positive relationships with each other” at the pre-school and “staff engage positively with children” and “provide consistently good teaching and implement the curriculum learning intentions securely”.

They also stated that the pre-school’s safeguarding measures were effective and “there is an open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children's interests first”.

Tadley Under Fives Pre-school also received a Good rating from Ofsted after its inspection on March 12. It is located at the Tadley and District Community Centre on Newchurch Road.

Inspectors began their report by saying that “children feel safe and secure at this welcoming, home-from-home pre-school”.

They also said that pre-school staff support children practising their physical and language skills well and that “staff's positive interactions support children's further development and critical thinking skills”.

The safeguarding arrangements at Tadley Under Fives Pre-school were also found to be effective.
