Thames Valley Police charge two teenagers in Reading attempted murder and GBH investigation
Two teenagers have been charged in connection with an attempted murder and GBH investigation in Reading.
A 17-year-old boy from Reading, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with one count of attempted murder.
Kayden Williams, aged 18, of Don Close, Tilehurst, has been charged with one count of Section 20 grievous bodily harm without intent and assault by beating.
Mr Williams and the 17-year-old boy have been released on court bail and are set to appear at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, August 16.
The charges relate to two incidents that occurred on the evening of Thursday, August 4.
At around 5.45pm in Coronation Square, Southcote, a teenage girl was assaulted by a man.
Later, at 6.10pm, a teenage male was hit by a van on Pierce’s Hill in Tilehurst.
Both victims suffered serious injuries and remain in hospital.
These incidents led police to put a section 60 order in place on Friday, granting officers extra stop and search powers for a 24-hour period.
Two other men, aged 18, 20, both from Reading, who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, have been released on conditional police bail until 1 September, along with a 38-year-old man, also from Reading, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
