Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury tyre fitter convicted of damaging woman's car

A man has been convicted of deliberately damaging a woman’s car, despite his earlier denial.

Nicholas Francis Heavingham, who used to live in Coldharbour Road, Hungerford, initially denied causing £115 worth of criminal damage to a Mini belonging to Rebecca Lees in Hungerford on November 17, 2020.

But he subsequently changed his plea to guilty.

Mr Heavingham, who now lives in London Road, Newbury, also has previous convictions for serious motoring offences.

On Friday, January 7, Reading magistrates told the 31-year-old tyre fitter that they wanted pre-sentence reports following his latest offending.

These were to be prepared on an 'all options' basis, including custody, the court ruled.

Mr Heavingham, who is also known as Nicholas Matthews, was meanwhile granted conditional bail.
