UKIP leader draws in crowds at Newbury public meeting





Nigel Farage, who is also the Member of European Parliament (MEP) for the south east of England, headed to the town to talk open door immigration and separation from the European Union with local residents, and also signed copies of his book Flying High.
He also planned to break down some of the stigma associated with the party, which has attracted negative publicity in recent months after the then UKIP MEP Godfrey Bloom referred to countries receiving government aid as ‘Bongo Bongo Land” while Henley-on-Thames UKIP councillor David Silvester claimed government support for gay marriage had caused the periods of severe weather which have battered the country since December.
