Unemployment falls again in West Berkshire




Figures released today (Wednesday) show that 1,781 people in West Berkshire claimed unemployment benefit in June

THE number of people claiming unemployment benefit in West Berkshire fell again last month.

Figures released by the Office for National Statistics today (Wednesday) reveal that 1,781 people in West Berkshire (1.8 per cent of the working population) claimed unemployment benefit during June.

Of these, 1,168 were men (2.4 per cent of the working population) and 613 were women (1.2 per cent of the working population).

The latest figures show that 14 fewer people in West Berkshire claimed unemployment benefit last month compared to May this year, while the figures show that 155 fewer people claimed unemployment benefit compared to June last year.
