Unemployment falls again in West Berkshire

THE number of people claiming unemployment benefit in West Berkshire has fallen for a third successive month.

Figures released today (Wednesday) by the Office for National Statistics show that 1,730 people (1.8 per cent of the working population) claimed unemployment benefit during November - 11 fewer than in October.

Of these, 1,146 (2.3 per cent of the working population) were men and 584 (1.2 per cent of the working population) were women.

The figures show the third successive monthly decrease in the district's claimant count.
