The number of people in West Berkshire claiming unemployment benefit has fallen for the second successive month
THE number of people claiming unemployment benefit in West Berkshire has fallen for the second successive month.
Figures released today (Wednesday) by the Office for National Statistics revealed that 1,741 people (1.8 per cent of the working population) claimed unemployment benefit during October.
Of these, 1,139 (2.3 per cent of the working population) were men and 602 (1.2 per cent of the working population) were women.
The figures show the second successive decrease in the district's claimant count, following increases in both July and August.
