Unemployment rises in West Berkshire for the second month in a row





Figures released today (Wednesday) by the Office for National Statistics show that 1,859 people (1.9 cent of the working population) claimed unemployment benefit during February – 61 more than in January.
Of these, 1,284 were men (2.6 per cent of the population) and 575 (1.2 percent of the population) were women.
This time last year, 15 fewer people in West Berkshire were claiming unemployment benefit.
