Wasing Estate will open its new music venue at Summer Solstice
A brand-new live music venue set within Wasing Estate will host its opening ceremony on June 21 at Summer Solstice.
The Mount, a unique sustainable open-air woodland amphitheatre, will bring world-renowned musical artists to West Berkshire.
Upon arrival, visitors will amble along a woodland trail to the amphitheatre where captivating world music and seasonal cuisine awaits them.
The show will feature an array of mesmerising performers including Australian singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd, who will perform a blend of folk, blues and reggae supporting social consciousness, environmental issues and Aboriginal rights.
Wasing Estate CEO Andrew Perkins said: "The launching of The Mount is the dawning of an exciting new era for Wasing.
"We want to connect people in an extra special space, in a sensory moment fully immersed in nature and music."
Indigenous Amazonian tribe the Yawanawa, headed by chief Nixiwaka, will share ancestral wisdom, song and prayer, bringing a deeper connection to nature at the celebration.
Chief Nixiwaka has dedicated his life to reclaiming his people's ancient culture and spirituality and has become regarded as a visionary for what he describes as a new humanity for a better world.
Lifelong activist and peace pilgrim Satish Kumar, known for his 8,000-mile peace walk in all the capital cities of nuclear armed countries, insists that reverence for nature should be at the heart of every political and social debate, and will share wisdoms of the connection between people and planet.
In addition to the opening ceremony concert, there is an option to camp at Wasing overnight with access to music from Danit and Nessi Gomes at the Fireside Sessions later that evening.
"We look forward to welcoming everyone to our stunning amphitheatre for what promises to be a beautiful Solstice evening," added Mr Perkins.
