Ros has made a study of the significant 19th Century showman and circus proprietor George Sanger who was born in Newbury in 1825.

She has uncovered his interesting career which saw him produce shows in London and Glasgow, tour throughout the UK and Europe with a circus and menagerie and create the Dreamland amusement park in Margate.

He stayed in contact with Newburians all his life. The talk will focus on George's interesting and colourful life which has not been well covered historically to date.
