UPDATE: One school in West Berkshire closed due to snow last night

The Castle School in Newbury is closed because of ice and the snow conditions

UPDATE: By 10.5am the Newtown Road Recycling Centre was re-opened.

JUST one school in West Berkshire has been forced to closed today (Friday) because of last night's snowfall.

The Castle School, Love Lane, has closed owing to the ice and snow conditions and will re-open after half term on Monday, February 20.

Compton Stay and Play at East Downlands Children's Centre has been cancelled today owing to a lack of heating.

Around two and a half centimetres of snow fell in the area overnight.

Newtown Road Recycling Centre, Newbury will be closed for a while this morning because of the conditions.
