UPDATE: Traffic accident on A4 in Newbury
Motorists are experiencing traffic delays during rush hour traffic this morning (Friday)
TRAFFIC is moving slowly through central Newbury during this morning's (Friday's) rush hour following an collision.
The A4 in Newbury is currently closed, as at 9am, and traffic is slow in both directions at the Robin Hood Roundabout, because of an road traffic accident on the roundabout.
Traffic queues are currently also backing up on the A339.
The police and the ambulance service are in attendance.
Ellie Gray, a spokeswoman for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, also said one fire crew from Newbury attended the incident, which involved one car, at 8.44am and left the scene at 8.50am.
UPDATE 9.28am:
Adam Fisher, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said this morning's accident occurred at 8.39am after a Mini collided with a barrier.
He said the 21-year-old male driver of the Mini, from Newbury, had suffered from a medical episode but was not injured.
A partial lane closure has been put in place on the A339 northbound, at the junction with London Road, while the accident is being cleared.

Traffic is moving again and the accident has been cleared.
