Upper Lambourn coldest place in UK last night

It was. According to the Met Office, Upper Lambourn was the coldest place in the whole of the UK, with temperatures plummeting to a bone-chilling minus nine.
This beautiful picture of Inkpen Common, taken by our photographer Phil Cannings earlier today, shows how the big freeze has hit West Berkshire this week.
