Newbury Vegan Market returning to the market place
Newbury Vegan Market returns to Market Place on Sunday, February 20, for its first event of the year.
The market will offer an array of vegan street food, baked goods and sweet treats alongside sustainable clothing brands, animal-friendly beauty products and ethical arts and crafts stalls.
Local and national businesses are both set to take part in the event that has been set up by Newbury Business Improvement District (BID) and market operators Vegan Fairs Ltd.
Newbury BID’s operations manager Alison Drummond said: “With so many exciting new and existing traders signed-up to the first Newbury Vegan Market of the year, we’re confident that this will increase town centre footfall even more so than usual.
“It’s promising that our free vegan maps—available on the day—are already helping visitors to recognise Newbury as a go-to vegan destination, outside of market day.
“If we can encourage even a quarter of market attendees to return to Newbury in between specific event days, then we’re achieving our aim to support our local businesses and successfully raise Newbury’s profile.”
This month’s market will include popular vegan food brands such as No Frickin Chicken, Soy Ahoy and Stop Ya Beefin’, as well as local food stalls from Inn at Home and Colline’s Kitchen.
The market will be held from 10am to 3pm on Sunday and it is going to continue to take place on the third Sunday of every third month.
Due to the market taking place, Newbury town centre roads will close on the day from 8am to 5pm.
