UPDATE: Vehicle fire causing significant delays on the M4 but all lanes are open, National Highways reports




All lanes are re-open after a vehicle fire on the M4 caused significant delays.

The incident occurred between junctions J14 for Hungerford and J15 for Swindon East in Wiltshire in the early hours of this morning.

Despite all lanes being open, there are still delays of 50 minutes against expected traffic and approximately 5 miles of congestion.

Normal traffic conditions are expected to return between 5pm and 5.15pm.

It first tweeted about the incident at 2:44am stating that traffic had completely stopped.

The third lane was revealed to be opened at 3.12am with National Highways also stating at the time that emergency services were still in attendance.

Ramsbury Fire Station were alerted to the vehicle fire at 1.30am this morning, and 14 to 15 fire engines from the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.
