Views sought today (Tues) on Hungerford homes’ site development

Sovereign Housing Association is holding a public consultation at Hungerford Town Hall today (Tues), from 4pm to 7pm to present its plans for the redevelopment of Fairfields and Northview Heights.
Sovereign staff, the architects and building contractors will be on hand to talk to residents about the proposals and to record their feedback.
The homes at Fairfields and Northview Heights are no longer considered suitable accommodation, and Sovereign has recently built two new modern blocks of older persons’ homes at Redwood House and Lindley Lodge.
It would now like to redevelop the Fairfields and Northview sites to provide homes that, it says, would meet local housing needs.
The association proposes proposes building 15 homes at Fairfields and nine on the Northview site.
Sovereign Regional Director for Berkshire, Nicole Sharp, said: “We want to give the community the opportunity to let us know what they think about the plans. We’d like to see as many local residents as possible coming along to view the proposals and discuss them with us.
“West Berkshire is an important area for us, and we have a good record of working with the local authorities and communities here to deliver high-quality affordable housing that meets local needs.”
She added: “We have a strong long-term engagement in the historic town of Hungerford and intend to build homes that are not only sympathetic to the local environment but also enhance and improve the town.”
