Views wanted on improving heart health

The British Heart Foundation is urging people to come forward with ideas on how to improve heart health

THE British Heart Foundation (BHF) is urging people from West Berkshire to come forward with ideas about how to improve heart health in the district.

The charity wants to support local projects that would improve the quality of life for heart patients and their carers or promote a healthier lifestyle for those at risk of developing heart disease.

The BHF is inviting applicants to apply for its Help a Heart programme, which makes awards of between £300 and £2,000 available to voluntary and community groups to run projects in their area.

Previous examples of how the money has been spent include developing web-based resources for local heart patients, swimming programmes to promote physical activity to groups of young carers as well as programmes that help heart patients and their carers manage stress.
