Yattendon & Frilsham Fete coming soon
A popular village fete will return at the end of the month.
The Yattendon & Frilsham Fete will return to Yattendon Village Square on Monday, May 27 from 1pm till 4.30pm.
The fete, which originated during the medieval period, draws hundreds of families each year whilst raising money for local charitable causes.
Lord Iliffe will open the fete at 1pm for visitors to enjoy games, a tombola, raffle, homemade cakes and plant and produce stalls.
This year will see the return of the dog show, traditional Morris dancing, maypole dancing, Punch and Judy and entertainment by VoxSonix choir, Newbury Ukelele Town Strummers and Scampy Acoustic Harmony Duo.
Offer attractions will include a baking competition, Christmas tree throwing and egg throwing.
Plenty of food and drink options will be available, including a hog roast.
Volunteers from Charlie Waller, Newbury Riding for Disabled and West Berks Foodbank will be attending and supplying volunteers to work on the gates.
In return, they will receive a percentage of the gate takings.
Entrance costs £4. Children under 16 enter free.
Free car parking is available in and around the village.
