Enborne and Hamstead Marshall Flower Show a success after two years off
The Enborne and Hamstead Marshall Flower Show was deemed to be a success by organisers after it was held for the first time in three years.
Despite entries being down on previous years, the show on Saturday, September 3 was still very well attended and the show tent was described as looking “splendid”.
Enborne and Hamstead Marshall Garden Society chair Dawn Taylor wished to thank the committee, her family and friends for all their hard work and dedication for enabling the show to go ahead.
Cup winners included Andy Pocock, who won the men’s Cornelia, Countess of Craven Challenge Cup and the Fruit Growers Cup, Kathy Cockar, who won the Kent Challenge Cup, Gillian Pocock, who won the ladies’ Cornelia, Countess of Craven Challenge Cup and the Wheatlands Challenge Cup, Louise Burns, who won the Basil Jones Challenge Cup, Janet Anderson, who won the Cyril Luckes Challenge Cup, and Doreen Pool who won the Pocock Challenge Cup for Parishoners.
Junior winners included Alexander Lancaster who won the Ronald Anderson Challenge Cup (Under 5s) and the Rectors Challenge Cup, Benjamin Lancaster and Ava Barrett who won the Garden Society Challenge Cup (5 – 8 years), Rowan Cockar who won the Peter Taylor Junior Challenge Cup (9 – 12 years), and Alex Powell, who won the Peter Taylor Youth Challenge Cup (13 – 16 years).
