Woolton Hill and Highclere Village Market returns to Thorngrove School on Saturday, November 30 for Christmas edition

The festive and final Woolton Hill and Highclere Village Market of the year is taking place at the end of this month.

The Christmas edition of the popular North Hampshire market is always its busiest and most popular, and it is returning to Thorngrove School on Saturday, November 30, from 10am to 1pm.

More than 60 stallholders will be present offering a huge range of produce, gifts, homewares and more for those looking to get started on their Christmas shopping.

Father Christmas will also be making an appearance at the market, with children being able to visit him in his grotto and receive a small gift for free.

The charity tearoom will be run by a team of volunteers from Newbury Cancer Care.

The market’s committee will be presenting a cheque for all the money it’s managed to raise in 2024 to its charity of the year, Newbury Speakability, at 11.45am.

There will also be a charity raffle for Speakability on the day, with prizes including a Land Rover bicycle, a 55” smart TV and a four ball round of golf at Donnington Grove.

Raffle tickets cost £1 and the draw will be made at 12pm by North West Hampshire MP Kit Malthouse.

Market committee member Samantha Atkins said: “The committee would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the market in 2024, making such generous charity donations possible.

“In particular, Kingsclere Vets who have been our sponsor for 2024 so a huge thanks to the team there.

“Without Thorngrove School allowing us to hold the event in their grounds this market would not be possible so we can’t thank them enough.”
