Compton roads to be closed for over a month for maintenance




Three Compton roads will be closed for more than a month so maintenance can be carried out and manhole covers can be repaired.

The High Street, School Road and Aldworth Road in the village will be closed during the hours of 8am to 8pm on weekdays between Monday, July 25, and Friday, September 2.

The closure will be between the roads’ junction with Wilson Close and its junction with an unnamed road from Aldworth Road to Uplands.

The closure will be carried out in three stages for the three different roads, and each phase will be advertised locally throughout its duration.

An alternative route – which will be signed on site – will be via Aldworth Road, Haw Lane (B4009), Wyld Court Hill, Church Street, Water Street, unnamed road from Ilsley Road to Newbury Hill, Newbury Road, Ilsley Road, and vice versa.

Residential access will be maintained throughout but blue light access will not be permitted.
