The road, which is within the parish of Basildon and Pangboune, will be closed from Monday, April 29 to Thursday, May 2 between the hours of 8am and 5pm.

This closure is taking place to enable Volker Highways to carry out pre-surface dressing on behalf of West Berkshire Council.

The diversion, which will take motorists up Gardener’s Lane and across Pangbourne Hill (or vice versa), will be signed on site.

Elsewhere, in Bradfield Southend will also be closed for two days next week to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out work on overhead cables.

The lane, from its junction with Bishops Road to its junction with Southend Road, will be closed between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm each day on May 1 and 2.

An alternative route is via Southend Road, Cock Lane, Bishops Road and vice versa.

Residential access will be maintained throughout, and the diversion will be signed on site.
