And it is seeking any first-hand testimonies or stories passed down through the generations which will be told throughout the evening.

The commemoration will be held on June 6, 2024 at Heads Farm in Chaddleworth.

The event will include a procession through the village, live music and a beacon lighting at around 9.30pm.

D-Day, codenamed ‘Operation Overlord’, saw Allied forces storm the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944 to liberate Western Europe from Nazi tyranny.

It is considered the largest amphibious invasion in military history.
