Padworth and Aldermaston Wharf Show returns for another ‘action-packed day’ of family fun
A village show celebrated its return at the weekend.
The organisers of Padworth and Aldermaston Wharf Show welcomed visitors to Padworth Village Hall on Sunday (July 7), for another day filled with fun activities and community spirit.
After a very wet start, the sun came out, transforming the day into a glorious afternoon.
The excitement kicked off with a vibrant parade featuring various artists, followed by a spectacular performance from the Pangbourne Brass Band.
Ray Prior even came out of retirement for an amazing falconry display with his birds of prey.
And RPM Bike Trials display team impressed the crowds with incredible stunts, while the West Berkshire Filipino Dancers got everyone involved in dancing with the tinikling sticks.
The MF Dancers and a Martial Arts display kept the energy high with audience participation, and the show was rounded off by the sensational Skangsters.
This year, show organisers partnered with Woolhampton Primary School PTA to host a colour run, with more than 85 participants.
The 2.5k and 5k route set off from the main arena with a fanfare, led by the West Berkshire Ghost Buster.
The Dog Show also enjoyed a great attendance for both pedigree and companion dogs.
Kennet Radio hosted the arena entertainment.
The organisers said they wanted to thank Lex Marque, of Aldermaston Scouts, for providing extra marquees and gazebos and to all the stallholders who braved the rain and kept smiling all day.
Special thanks also went to photographer Brian Baggaley, all volunteers and the show’s sponsors, Veolia, Exolum and Padworth Parish Council.
