East Garston to host annual music festival

GET ready for Garstonbury.

Tickets are now on sale, and usually sell out quickly, for the annual East Garston music festival.

Organiser Freddie Tulloch said: “After Glastonbury, I thought it might be a good time to plug its younger cousin, Garstonbury.”

The festival boasts top tribute bands as well as local talent, plus food and drink, fairground rides, bouncy castles and children’s entertainment.

Mr Tulloch added: “I know we don’t have Guns N’ Roses or Elton John, but we do have Queen, ABBA, Oasis and the Beach Boys – well, sort of – and the very best local bands.

“Also, we have plenty of toilets and acres of glorious countryside for camping.

“This is shaping up to be our best Garstonbury yet – we can't wait.”

The event won’t set visitors back hundreds of pounds, either.

Tickets cost £40 for adults and £30 for under 18s which includes free fairground rides; under fives’ entry is free.

Camping costs £15 per tent.

Mr Tulloch said: “There is even a discount for our locals, as those that visit The Queens Arms are given a promo code which gets them £5 off their ticket.”
