Jordan Geraghty from Lambourn admits serious assault on woman

A MAN who denied assaulting a woman in his village has changed his mind and admitted committing the offence.

At a previous hearing, at Reading Magistrates’ Court in May, Jordan Geraghty entered a plea of not guilty to assaulting Jessica Crayton, thereby causing her actual bodily harm, in Upper Lambourn, on Thursday, May 23.

The case was sent to Reading Crown Court for a trial to be arranged.

That was scheduled for Wednesday, October 23.

But before a jury was sworn in it emerged that the 26-year-old, who lives in a flat in Old Manor, Upper Lambourn, wished to change his plea to guilty.

The trial was abandoned and the judge adjourned for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.

A sentencing hearing was scheduled for Friday, December 13

Geraghty was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
