Villagers enjoy festive feast

East Ilsley villager Patricia Burnett organised the free festive affair, which included a Christmas lunch, games, mince pies and drinks at the Wilkins Centre, Compton.
Guests also received gifts handed out by Father Christmas.
Mrs Burnett said: “I don’t enjoy Christmas really, but I thought I would if I made people who are on their own happy and I really enjoyed it.
“I felt really good and it made my Christmas. It was wonderful and everybody was very happy.”
The lunch was free thanks to donations from Waitrose, Compton Village Shop and a cash donation from an anonymous East Ilsley resident.
Mrs Burnett said that she planned to run the event next year.
