Newbury RDA volunteer retires after 19 years of service
A volunteer of 19 years has retired from her role as a coach at a riding organisation which enables disabled children to ride ponies.
In September 2003, Jane Allen joined Newbury Riding for the Disabled (RDA) and has since taught hundreds of children how to ride.
She coached multiple riders through regional and national competitions, with many of them tasting a great deal of success.
A trustee of Newbury RDA Lindsay Morris: “We wish her a happy retirement.
“Her experience and expertise will be missed by all at the group.”
Ms Allen was a coach for the Tuesday morning class and taught pupils from Trinity School, Prior’s Court and elsewhere.
Newbury RDA is run from the stables at Wyld Court Stud, Hampstead Norreys, and it currently provides riding sessions for more than 80 children from schools in Newbury and the surrounding areas.
