Newbury Town Council needs help to plant 800 spring bulbs across the town.

The council is seeking volunteers from the community to help plant bulbs at River Walk, Trout Walk and Orchardene on Sunday, November 17.

The bulbs will be traditional native spring flowers including daffodils, wild garlic and crocuses.

Council leader Gary Norman said: “We are inviting local residents to come and take part by assisting the bulb planting.

“Newbury Town Council is sponsoring this event through our Green Spaces Working Group, so that there will be an additional display of colour in our open spaces in the future.”

Volunteers who wish to help are asked to come along from 10am, meeting at the grassed area at River Walk.

They are reminded to bring a trowel and some gloves if they have them, but some will be available to borrow on the day.
