West Berkshire footpaths, bridleways and byways to get upgraded
Footpaths and byways in West Berkshire are to get a bit of financial love in the council’s outlined spending plans for next year.
Around £42k is to be spent upgrading the Lambourn byways to improve drainage and make the surface suitable for all users.
Winterbourne’s get a £34k spend, and footpaths in Ashmore Green and Kintbury get £11,800 and £13,650 respectively. Beedon gets £9,500 of works.
Speen Moors walk has £117,200 allocated next year for surface improvement, widening the route and vegetation works.
Aldermaston footways have £15k coming their way for repair and reconstruction, and the Ridgeway trail gets £13k a year for the next few years to keep it up to the standard required by Natural England.
Bridleways get around £14k a year, with £7k a year allocated to improve disable access to the countryside.
