Walkers urged to join charity kiltwalk along canal

A 61-mile walk from Bath to Thatcham in May to raise money for the Naomi House Children's Hospice

WALKERS are being urged to sign up for a charity kiltwalk along the Kennet and Avon Canal in May.

The Tartan Army Children's Charity has announced that over the late May Bank Holiday weekend, Jim Finlay has organised a 61-mile walk from Bath to Thatcham in aid of Naomi House Children's Hospice, which offers respite, terminal and bereavement care for children and families in West Berkshire and across the south.

With an 8am start each day, walkers - most of whom dress in kilts - will go from Bath to Pewsey on the Saturday, where accommodation is being arranged, and then from Pewsey to The Swan at Thatcham on the Sunday.

In the inaugural event last year, the walkers raised more than £3,000 and for more information about this year's event, email: jamesfinlay1@yahoo.co.uk
