Police warning after increase in thieves targeting parked cars at M4 services




Drivers are urged to be aware after an increase in thieves targeting vehicles parked at M4 service stations.

Thames Valley Police warned that mobile devices are being used to prevent the central locking systems working on vehicles.

Police patrols have been increased, with the Hungerford and Downlands Neighbourhood Policing Team checking over Membury and Chieveley services.

Drivers are urged to remember to “look, listen and check” when locking vehicles using the key fob.

TVP also encouraged drivers to not leave any valuables on show in cars when leaving them unattended.
